About the Diploma in Supervision

An Integrative Relational approach

‘Ongoing and regular supervision is a feature of many disciplines where constant change and complexity are the norm, and where there can be personal costs and challenges related to the work’ (Cavicchia & Gilbert 2019)

This timely, compelling and innovative programme is being delivered by Patti Stevens on a virtual, one to one basis starting in the autumn 

Programme structure overview

There will be built-in ‘thinking time’ together to allow for reflective and reflexive practice.

This stretching and stimulating, programme can be delivered in ten x 2 hour sessions, scheduled over four months or diarised to suit and includes:

  • Understanding the landscape of supervision
  • Creation and components of contracting
  • Sense of self and role; both supervisor and supervisee
  • Supervision process, theories, models and techniques
  • Ethical practice and maturity
  • Development of your professional knowledge
  • Distinct practices of leadership and organisational supervision
  • Commercial frame of supervision; building your supervision practice

Throughout the programme, reflective/reflexive learning journaling is required along with the submission of an assignment themed on ‘My development as a supervisor’ along with a current case study.

About the course leader, Patti Stevens

Patti Stevens MSc. founded the Coaching Supervision Consultancy Limited (CSC Ltd) in 2004 to meet the Professional Supervision requirements of practitioners working within Coaching, Leadership, Consultancy, & People Development. That same year she also co-founded the Association for Professional Executive Coaching & Supervision (APECS), the UK’s top-level professional body for accrediting Executive Coaches & Supervisors. She served as a Board Director & CEO from 2004 to 2014 and continues to be active as a Lead Accreditor.

Having gained extensive business, coaching, counselling & supervision experience over forty years both in the private & public sectors and worked with various academic institutions and business schools to design and deliver qualifications at Masters and Doctoral level, Patti brings a rich tapestry of experience, knowledge and wisdom to her field.

Through the professional supervision relationship, Patti quality assures coaching provision by monitoring, evaluating & developing coaches, leaders, consultants & those involved in professional relationships. Her work integrates reflexivity & best practice along with coaching performance delivery & continuing personal & professional development (CPPD). To this end Patti has evolved & developed the unique Coaching Signatures Profile® (CSP) which she uses in her own practice whilst also developing & accrediting other supervisors to use the tool (please call me for further information).

Patti’s professional qualifications include; MSc. Psychological Counselling & Psychotherapy (Roehampton, Surrey); Post-Graduate Diploma in Organisational Psychology & Psychiatry (Kings College, London); Diploma in Supervision for Coaching & Mentoring  (Oxford Brookes University); Diploma in Professional Coaching & Mentoring (OSC&M) and a BSc Hons. Psychology (Brunel University), together with too many CPPD activities and certificates to mention here!

A thought leader throughout her organisational life journey, Patti is a Fellow and Companion of the Institute of Leadership and Management. She is an alumnus of the Windsor Leadership Dialogue forum for senior leaders from a diverse range of organisations who exchange views on the type of leadership needed to sustain a successful future, recognising that every person has an important contribution to make and something to learn from each other. This is completely compatible with Patti’s professional and personal philosophy of self and being.
